Uline Packaging Guidelines

Two copies of the packing list are required with each shipment. They should include the company name and address, PO number, Uline part number, vendor part number, item description, Uline unit of measure, quantity shipped in Uline unit of measure, and skid count by item. One copy should be placed in the top right corner of the first skid on the trailer, and one copy should be enclosed in an envelope, attached to the Bill of Lading, and given to the driver.

Yes, pallets can be stacked. However, the stacked pallet maximum height must not exceed 53 inches (including the pallet), and good quality 48" x 40" pallets must be used. Any deviation must be approved by the Merchant.

Uline's standard pallet size is 48" x 40". Use good quality 48" x 40" pallets. Specialty pallets with double stringer must have a spread between 18" to 22" wide. Approval is needed from Merchant for any deviations or other pallet types.

A Bill of Lading is required for each shipment to the Uline Distribution Center. It must specify the PO numbers, freight class, product description, and shipping weight. A master manifest must accompany every trailer load and be attached to the Bill of Lading. One copy should be enclosed in an envelope, attached to the Bill of Lading and given to the driver.

Uline requires that carton labels are placed in the top, left corner of the carton on the short side of the box. Vendor labels should be omitted when possible; if included, they should be placed in the top, right corner. UPS shipping labels should be on the long side of the carton for packages shipped via UPS. No labels should be placed on individual cartons arriving via freight carrier. Labels must be pre-approved by Uline and should not have tape placed over them. For cartons less than 4" in height, labels should be in the bottom left corner; for depth less than 4", labels should be in the top left corner. Bulk skid labels should be placed on the stretch wrap in the top, left corner of the short side/front of the skid. Approval is required for any exceptions to these guidelines.
