Each Bill of Lading (BOL) must contain, at a minimum, the vendor's name and "in care of" company name, all purchase order numbers, number of cartons by purchase order and total shipment, weight, pallets and/or cube, National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) Number, and freight class. For palletized shipments, cartons should be stacked by purchase order, shrink-wrapped, and not palletized by store. All carton labels must face outward and remain clearly visible possibly using separators for multiple purchase orders within the same pallet. For floor-loaded shipments, trailers should be loaded by purchase order with labels facing the trailer's tail end.

For palletized shipments, the shipping labels on cartons must be facing out and clearly visible.
