Gordon Food Service Packaging Guidelines

Gordon Food Service allows both stringer pallets and block pallets for shipping. The measurements for both pallet types must be 48" x 40", 4-way entry, and capable of bearing a load of 2,500 pounds. Both pallet types must have top and bottom deck boards that are at least 9/16" thick, and they must be constructed in a flush style with no offsets.

PO403 specifies that the "Unit or Basis for Measure Code" is used to define the pack (PO401)/size (PO402) measure, indicating the quantity in the inner pack unit. For example, if a carton contains 24 12-Ounce packages, it is described with Data element 356 as "24", Data element 357 as "12", and Data element 355 as "OZ".
