Are there any requirements for packing lists when shipping cartons?

All shipments and deliveries must have a packing slip or line level invoice attached and removable from the outside of the lead carton/pallet, clearly marked 'Packing Slip Enclosed.' Each packing slip must include the shipper's name & address, DC/MFC name and address, purchase order number, a clear and full description of the goods, UPC by case and item level, total number of cartons and units, total of style/color/size by carton, and for parcel shipments, the total number of packages within a PO.

Can pallets be stacked?

Pallets may NOT be double stacked.

Can purchase orders be mixed within a single carton?

Purchase orders must be packed to reflect the purchase orders/location, meaning mixing different purchase orders within a single carton is not allowed. Each carton must reflect a single purchase order/location.

Can SKUs be mixed within a single carton?

SKUs can be mixed within a single carton, but for small SKU runs only. When doing so, separate them within the carton using corrugation, tissue, or Kraft paper, and mark the carton as 'Mixed SKU.'

What are the allowed pallet types for shipping?

Allowed pallets are 40" x 48" wooden pallets. Plastic is acceptable on a case-by-case basis.

What are the max and min weights for shipping cartons?

Cartons should be no more than 30 lbs. No specific minimum weight is mentioned.

What are the requirements for carton or pallet labels and their placement?

For carton labels, all item cases should bear the following core information: Vendor name, Product name or description, UPC or GTIN barcode, Expiration date, Batch/Lot or serial number, and optional fields like Quantity, Gross weight, Net Weight, Storage conditions, and Country of Origin. For pallet labels/GS1-128 Label, two identical labels are required with a minimum size of 8" x 11". The secondary label must be attached to the adjacent side. The label should include Ship From Address, Ship To Address, DC/MFC Location Name, PO #, Qty of cases on the pallet, Carrier Name (if available), and BOL/pro numbers (if available).

What are the requirements for inner packs and cases?

Inner case packs must have a case pack label, be made of shippable cardboard, and cannot be made of plastic bags or plain shipping envelopes.
