What are the max dimensions and weights for cartons?

For weight, cases over 50 pounds should be avoided (35 pounds or less is preferable). For dimensions, ideally keep cases at a maximum of 20" L, 14" W, and 6" H; avoid cases that exceed 30" in length, 20" in width, or 18" in height.

What are the min dimensions and weights for cartons?

For shipping cases, while no minimum overall carton dimensions are specified, the guide indicates that cases should preferably weigh 35 pounds or less with weights over 50 pounds to be avoided. Recommended case dimensions are a length of up to 20 inches (avoid exceeding 30 inches), a width of up to 14 inches (avoid more than 20 inches), and a height of up to 6 inches (avoid more than 18 inches). Additionally, for cases weighing more than 20 pounds, hand holes must have a minimum length of 4 inches and a minimum height of 1.5 inches.

Where do I place the label on a carton?

For domestic shipments, a standard UCC 128 label must be placed on the shipping carton in a location where it does not cover any photos, UPCs, or other printed descriptors. If the carton already has a label, the Wegmans shipping label should be applied to the back or side of the carton. For suppliers not UCC 128 capable, a label with the same information (minus the barcode) should be placed similarly. In the case of items that are a Mod, Pallet Display, or Shipper, the label must be positioned on the outside of the unit. Additionally, if the item includes a shippable inner pack, the inner pack should also receive a label containing the required information.
