Can I stack pallets?

Yes. Cartons may be stacked on a pallet as long as they are loaded by PO, style, color, and size integrity. If cartons for more than one Purchase Order are on the same pallet, they must be organized by Purchase Order number, and only one PO should be stacked per pallet unless the shipment is too small for its own pallet.

Can you mix multiple SKUs per carton?

Yes, cartons may contain multiple SKUs provided an additional carton content label is used to list all items in the carton.

Can you mix multiple SKUs per pallet?

Yes, but only if all items are from the same Purchase Order. The guidelines require that a pallet contain cartons from one PO only and that they be organized by style, color, and size integrity.

Can you mix POs in a single carton?

No, you cannot mix POs in a single carton. All instructions clearly state not to combine or mix multiple POs in the same carton.

Can you mix POs in a single pallet?

No, you should not mix Purchase Order numbers on a single pallet. Each pallet should contain only one PO, except when there is a small quantity of cartons that doesn’t fill a full pallet—in that case, mixed POs are allowed if the shipment is labeled as 'MIXED PALLET'.

What are the max dimensions and weights for cartons?

The maximum carton must weigh 50 lbs with dimensions of 24 inches in length, 18 inches in width, and 18 inches in height.

What are the min dimensions and weights for cartons?

Minimum weight is 5 pounds with dimensions 9" (L) x 4" (W) x 6" (H).

Where do I place the label on a carton?

For all cartons the shipping label (4×6, with black type on a white background) must be affixed visibly on the carton. For labels using the UCC‑128 (SSCC‑18) format there are two options – a Single UPC Shipping Label or a Multiple UPC Shipping Label. The label is pre‐formatted into zones: Zones A and C show the ship from and ship to addresses; additional zones (B, D, etc.) display information such as the Purchase Order Number and sequential carton count; Zones F, G, and H show the UPC and carton barcodes. For non‑EDI partners, the label must include (Zone A) “FROM” information, (Zone B) “TO” information, (Zone C) the Purchase Order Number and (Zone D) the carton count (eg 125 of 168). Furthermore, if a carton contains multiple UPC items an additional carton contents label is required that lists the UPC, style number, description and quantity. Lastly, for mixed PO shipments (when mixed cartons or pallets are involved) an extra approximately 4″×6″ colored label marked “MIXED CARTON/MIXED PALLET” must be securely attached adjacent to the shipping label.

Where do I place the label on a pallet?

For non-EDI shipments, each carton must bear a shipping label with specific zones. When a pallet contains mixed PO numbers (i.e. not a single purchase order per pallet), you must also affix an additional, approximately 4″ x 6″ colored label that reads ‘MIXED CARTON / MIXED PALLET’—this label should be securely attached adjacent to the shipping label. EDI shipments use the UCC‑128 and Carton Contents labels (per Section 4) with no extra pallet label required.
