Are there any requirements for packing lists when shipping cartons?

Yes, there are requirements for packing lists when shipping cartons. The packing list must be attached to the lead carton of each shipment, which is the first carton visible when the trailer door is opened. For less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, the packing list should be attached to a carton or pallet that is clearly marked with "Packing List Enclosed." Additionally, the packing list details must be sorted and displayed in the same order as the corresponding line item detail on the ShopHQ Purchase Order Number. Each container in a multi-container shipment must have a separate packing list.

Are there any requirements for packing lists when shipping pallets?

The packing list must be attached to the lead carton of each shipment. For less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, the packing list should be attached to a pallet or carton clearly marked with "Packing List Enclosed."

Can pallets be stacked?

Pallets can be stacked up to 72" high, provided that the bottom layers can support the load without damage or deformation. Each pallet must also have labels specifying "DO NOT STACK ON TOP OF PALLET."

Can purchase orders be mixed within a single carton?

No, a Master Carton must contain one, and only one, SKU. A Master Carton with more than one SKU is unacceptable and may result in Vendor Violations.

Can SKUs be mixed on a single pallet?

Yes, mixed SKUs on a single pallet are acceptable, provided that a pallet label clearly identifies each SKU contained on the pallet.

Can SKUs be mixed within a single carton?

No, a Master Carton shall contain one, and only one, SKU. Mixed SKUs inside a Master Carton are unacceptable and may result in Vendor Violations.

What are the allowed pallet types for shipping?

ShopHQ requires general purpose hardwood pallets that are 48" by 40" with a 48" stringer length. Two-way entry, general-purpose non-reversible pallets, flush-stringer type, as well as two-way entry reversible pallets are acceptable. Pallets constructed of plywood, particleboard, fibreboard, plastic, or steel are not acceptable.

What are the max and min dimensions for shipping cartons?

Master Cartons may not exceed 24" wide by 40" long by 24" high. There are no minimum dimensions specified at this time.

What are the max and min weights for shipping cartons?

The maximum weight for Master Cartons is 45 pounds (20.4 kg). There is no minimum weight specified for shipping cartons.

What are the requirements for carton or pallet labels and their placement?

For cartons, each Master Carton requires markings or a label containing Ship From and To addresses, SKU, product description, piece count of the master carton, country of origin, weights in both pounds and kilograms, dimensions in both inches and centimeters, and ShopHQ's purchase order number. The lettering must be at least 1/4" (0.64 cm) high. Each pallet requires a printer-generated label, with lettering at least 1" in height, containing ShopHQ Purchase Order#, complete ShopHQ Part# (SKU#), total cartons on the pallet, total units, Ship-From and Ship-To Addresses (only for LTL shipments), and "DO NOT STACK ON TOP OF PALLET"; and "DO NOT BREAK DOWN". Mixed SKUs on a pallet must be clearly identified in the label.

What are the requirements for inner packs and cases?

Inner cartons must conform to all Master Carton requirements, including box strength, carton sealing, void fill, cut sheets, and carton markings/labels. Each inner carton should contain more than one Individual Selling Unit and be packed into a larger Master Carton that contains more than one inner carton.

What is the max pallet height allowed when shipping?

ShopHQ can accept pallets stacked up to 72" high (183 cm).
