Can pallets be stacked?

Shoe Sensation shipments must be floor loaded, meaning pallets are generally not used. Pallets can only be used with prior written authorization. There is no specific information on stacking pallets, only that shipments should maximize trailer utilization by being floor loaded, secured, and stacked high and tight.

Can purchase orders be mixed within a single carton?

No, each carton must contain merchandise for only one purchase order and only one store. Vendors cannot mix POs, styles, or colors within cartons without the buyer's authorization.

Can SKUs be mixed on a single pallet?

The Shoe Sensation Vendor Compliance Guide does not provide specific requirements for mixing SKUs on a single pallet. Shoe Sensation policy prohibits the use of pallets unless prior written authorization is given by Shoe Sensation Transportation Services for each shipment that is going on pallets.

What are the allowed pallet types for shipping?

What are the max and min dimensions for shipping cartons?

Labels must be a minimum of 6 inches high and 4 inches wide. Cartons shorter than 4 inches should have their labels placed on top.

What are the requirements for Bills of Lading when it comes to pallet (freight) or carton (parcel) shipments?

All Bills of Lading (BOL) must include total carton count, total weight, total cube, pallet weight and count (if approved), notation of "palletized for carrier convenience", Shipment ID number, Load ID number, NMFC item number and class, and number of cartons per purchase order. The BOL number must exactly match the number in EDI documents and include a list of valid purchase order numbers. Missing or incorrect Shipment ID or Load ID may lead to chargebacks. BOL must accompany shipments and be complete, otherwise a copy will be requested by Shoe Sensation.

What are the requirements for carton or pallet labels and their placement?

Carton labels must be a minimum of 6 inches high and 4 inches wide. On the longest side of the carton, place the label in the lower right corner two inches from the right side and bottom of the carton. For cartons under 4" in height, place the label on top. Required external carton label information includes the vendor name, company name, and carton sequence (required), with optional gross and net weight. All cartons require a UCC-128 shipping label included in the ASN transmission, following industry standards and containing a 20-digit code.

What are the requirements for placing labels on cartons being shipped?

1. External carton labels must include: Vendor name (required), Company name (required), Carton sequence (required), and optional elements like carton dimensions and weight.

2. Content labels on the ends of each carton must contain: Company PO number, Company or Vendor SKU, Company Prepack Code (if applicable), sizes and quantity, and total carton quantity.

3. UCC-128 shipping carton labels are required on all cartons, must be included in the ASN transmission, contain a human-readable 20-digit code, and follow industry standards.

4. Labels should be placed on the longest side of the carton in the lower right corner, two inches from the right side and bottom, or on top if the carton is under 4" in height.
