Are there any requirements for packing lists when shipping cartons?

For packing multiple containers, you must supply an accurate itemized packing list per container to Mainfreight or their partner. This is required for customs audits or quarantine actions, but there is no specified placement for the packing list.

Can pallets be stacked?

Yes, pallets can be double stacked. The requirements are that pallets must be stacked in interlock formation with no overhang of cartons. The heaviest cartons should be placed at the bottom, and pallets should have a square and flat roof for stability and safety. For international shipments, packing a square and flat roof is particularly important to allow for double stacking.

Can purchase orders be mixed within a single carton?

No, each Purchase Order (VPO) must be picked and packed as a separate order. Mixing purchase orders within a single carton is not permitted according to MECCA Brands' guidelines.

Can SKUs be mixed within a single carton?

Yes, SKUs can be mixed within a single carton. The outer carton labeling must clearly outline SKU identification and the quantities of each product.

What are the allowed pallet types for shipping?

High-quality wooden pallets and plastic pallets are acceptable, but damaged pallets of either type will not be accepted. Wooden pallets must be ISPM 15 compliant for international shipping.

What are the max and min weights for shipping cartons?

The document specifies that if the gross weight of a carton exceeds 16kg (35.3lbs), "heavy weight" warning labels should be placed on the top and sides of each carton. Minimum weight is not specified.

What are the requirements for carton or pallet labels and their placement?

Carton labels must be placed on one of the longest sides of each carton. The right-hand end of the SSCC barcode must be no less than 19 mm from the vertical edge, and the bottom must be no less than 32 mm from the base of the carton. Mandatory information includes brand name, VPO number, SKU information, number of cartons if not palletised, item description, item barcode, and carton quantity. If mixed items are in a carton, it must list SKU and quantity of each item.

What are the requirements for placing labels on cartons being shipped?

The label must be placed on one of the longest sides of each carton. The right hand end of the SSCC barcode must be no less than 19 mm from the vertical edge of the carton, and the bottom of the SSCC barcode must be no less than 32 mm from the base of the carton, in line with GS1 guidelines for carton label positioning. The label size should be A6, 105mm X 148mm or nearest equivalent, and should include details like a ship from/to address, carrier, number of cartons, and other relevant SKU information.

What is the max pallet height allowed when shipping?

For local suppliers, the maximum pallet height is 1.2 metres inclusive of pallet height for road transport. For international suppliers, it is 100 cm (39 inches) for SEA shipments and 62.5 inches (1.59 cm) for AIR shipments, inclusive of pallet height.
