Are there any requirements for packing lists when shipping cartons?

Pack each store in separate carton with a consolidated packing slip per purchase order placed inside an envelope and attached to the lead carton (carton 1 of X) if the 856 EDI-ASN has not been approved. The packing slip must consist of the total number of pieces and a breakdown by store by style.

Are there any requirements for packing lists when shipping pallets?

Each carton must contain only one purchase order and match shipment exactly. The packing slip should be included in an envelope attached to the lead carton, which is the top carton of your shipment (i.e., carton 1 of X). What are the requirements for Bills of Lading when it comes to pallet (freight) or carton (parcel) shipments?

Each Bill of Lading (BOL) must contain, at a minimum, the vendor's name and "in care of" company name, all purchase order numbers, number of cartons by purchase order and total shipment, weight, pallets and/or cube, National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) Number, and freight class. For palletized shipments, cartons should be stacked by purchase order, shrink-wrapped, and not palletized by store. All carton labels must face outward and remain clearly visible possibly using separators for multiple purchase orders within the same pallet. For floor-loaded shipments, trailers should be loaded by purchase order with labels facing the trailer's tail end.

A GS1-128 (UCC-128) barcode is mandatory and should be affixed according to approved specifications, ensuring that the barcode section does not wrap over any edges of the cartons. The standard label size for GS1-128 is 4 x 6 inches, and any exceptions must be approved. The shipping label should be attached to the shortest side of each carton and not on the top. For palletized shipments, the shipping labels on cartons must be facing out and clearly visible.
