Below you will find a common list of FAQs that our users have when it comes to packaging guidelines for Hamrick's.

Can you mix multiple SKUs per carton?

Yes – you can pack multiple SKUs in one carton as long as all items are from the same purchase order. Cartons must match the shipment exactly and cannot combine items from different purchase orders.

Can you mix POs in a single carton?

No, each carton must only contain one purchase order.

Can you mix POs in a single pallet?

No, you cannot mix purchase orders on a single pallet because each carton (and shipment/invoice) must contain merchandise for only one purchase order.

What are the max dimensions and weights for cartons?

Cartons must have maximum dimensions of 34" long x 23" wide x 28" high and a maximum weight of 40 pounds.

What are the min dimensions and weights for cartons?

Cartons must have minimum dimensions of 9" Long x 6" Wide x 5" High and a minimum weight of 2 pounds.

Where do I place the label on a carton?

Shipping labels must be placed on the shortest side of each carton (never on the top) and, for palletized shipments, they must be facing out. In addition, each carton must be marked on the outside in large print with the purchase order number, store number and name, and the carton’s sequence (e.g., 1 of X). For GS1-128 (EDI) labels, affix a standard 4 x 6 label on each case ensuring the barcode section does not wrap over any carton edges.

Where do I place the label on a pallet?

For palletized shipments, the shipping label must be applied so that it is facing out and clearly visible. For cartons, the shipping label (which bears the purchase order number, store information, and carton count in large print) should be attached to the shortest side (not on the top). In addition, GS1‐128 (UCC‐128) labels – which are standard 4 x 6 in size with specific zone information and must not have their barcode section wrap over any carton edges – must be affixed to all cases.
