Where do I place the label on a carton?

For carton labels, the documents state that each item case must display core markings (vendor name, product description, UPC/GTIN, expiration date, batch/lot or serial number, and optionally quantity, gross/net weight, storage conditions, and country of origin) but do not specify an exact placement location on the carton – they simply must be visible on the case. In comparison, pallet labels require two identical labels with one placed on the primary face of the pallet and a secondary label affixed to the adjacent side; masterpack labels must be properly affixed with a minimum size of 5″ x 3″, and shipping labels for small parcels must include designated ship from/to addresses and PO #.

Where do I place the label on a pallet?

For pallet labels, you must affix two identical GS1-128 labels on each pallet – one on a primary side and the identical secondary label on the adjacent side. The pallet label (minimum size of 8" x 11") must include the Ship From address, Ship To address, DC/MFC Location Name, PO number, quantity of cases on the pallet, and, if available, Carrier Name, BOL numbers, and Pro number.
