For White Boxes with Wrap‐Around Color Labels (Type M): The color label must be placed on the front panel and cover at least 75% of that panel. If the carton marking does not fit on an end, it is placed on another dominant side (often a side panel), with logos/shipping marks on at least three different sides. For Heavy and/or Large Boxed Items (Type K): Place the carton marking icons, a line illustration or color label, shipping end marks and shipping side marks; also, a dotted line is placed 1 inch above the bottom (or across the bottom for very heavy items) accompanied by the “CUT ALONG DOTTED LINE TO REMOVE ITEM FROM BOX” instruction. For Brown Boxes with Color Labels (Type I): The color label is placed on the front panel (again, at least 75% of the panel) with additional seasonal carton markings on the top/other side and shipping marks on designated shipping end and side panels. For Color Boxes (Type L): Carton markings are required on at least two different sides – the example shows shipping marks on the bottom and on the side panel (with additional graphics such as logos and product details as needed). Note that for all carton types, the article number must appear on at least four sides.

Where do I place the label on a pallet?
On pallets, place the barcode label so that its bottom is between 400 mm (16 in.) and 800 mm (32 in.) from the base if the pallet is tall enough. For pallets under 400 mm high, place the barcode as high as possible while protecting it. In all cases, ensure the entire symbol including its quiet zones is at least 50 mm (2 in.) from any vertical edge. For low-height logistic units, labels should preferably be positioned to the right of each side to accommodate right‐handed forklift operators.
